Job Description: Taproom Server/Kitchen Staff

All of our servers at Dimes Brewhouse are cross-trained to be able to work the bar and the kitchen. Both bar and kitchen staff work as a team to keep our customers happy. You will be trained to work both positions.

Applicants must 21+ years old. This is a part time job, working nights and weekends.

Taproom Server Position

When serving drinks at the bar, the servers at Dimes Brewhouse are the public face of our business. Servers need to be knowledgeable about our beverage offerings, and perform all tasks necessary for the taproom to function smoothly. You will be trained and expected to:

  1. Troubleshooting the taps system if we encounter issues such as beer foaming.

  2. Switch tap lines to a new keg down in the cooler when a keg runs out.

  3. Run the Point of Sale (POS) system and cash register. Enter orders, swipe cards, accept cash, count change, apply discounts, and troubleshoot the POS if necessary.

  4. General Cleaning. Sweep and mop floors, wipe tables and counters, dust lights, tables, walls, and other surfaces.

  5. Clean and stock the bathroom. Mop the floor, clean the sink and mirror, scrub the toilet and urinal, wipe surfaces clean, restock supplies.

  6. In the winter: shovel snow from our porch and sidewalk and apply salt.

  7. Prepare chemical solutions of cleaners and sanitizers

  8. Work with management to update and maintain checklists and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  9. Use a smart phone to access our scheduling app, and communicate with the team on the Slack app.

Kitchen Staff Position

Kitchen staff follow food safety procedures to create consistently yummy meals. This position includes:

  1. Prepare food to orders while following best practices for food safety and all food safety laws.

  2. Carry food out to the customers when it is ready.

  3. Keep daily inventory of food and supplies.

  4. Restock and replenish inventory items as needed.

  5. Clean and sanitize food contact surfaces including dishware, cutlery, cutting boards, food preparation surfaces, etc.

  6. Maintain a clean and organized food prep area and clean grilling surface.

  7. Follow safety procedures to avoid cuts, burns, and other injuries.

  8. Work with management to continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). 

  9. Work as a team with the bar staff to deliver great service.

  10. Respond to customer concerns and complaints maintaining a positive attitude.

  11. Label all food with ‘Use By’ dates and rotate food supplies, throwing out food that is past the date.

  1. TIPS Training

  2. Experience in serving alcoholic beverages

  3. Food preparation and food service experience
